An interview is a conversation between you and an employer to see if you’re the right fit for a role. It’s important to make sure you know what to expect from an interview and to prepare as best as you can.

What to expect in an interview

Whether you’re interviewing for a job, training or a qualification, the interview experience will be similar.  A potential employer may not be expecting you to have done the job before, but they’ll be looking for relevant experience or strengths. This is the same for interviews for qualifications or training. They’ll be looking at your education, experience and interests.

Three steps of interviews:

Step-01:

Apart from the public sector, it’s very unluckily that an employer advertises their job directly on the Internet. Instead of advertising directly, some companies choose to use third-party job search engines. To help you apply your desired job through the internet, our expert provides one-on-one sessions to assist you with registering your CV on various top job search engines in the UK. During these sessions, we will ensure that all the required sections are filled out correctly to grab the attention of potential employers.

Step-02:

Once you apply for a role, you will receive phone calls, emails, or text messages from the employer or 3rd party agents if your CV gets shortlisted by them to conduct the 2nd round of interviews. It may be the last set of interviews in certain scenarios.

Step-03:

The 2nd or 3rd round is usually the final round, where an employer typically conducts the interview in person or via a video call through Microsoft Team, Facetime, Google Hangouts, and Zoom. When you receive an invitation for an interview, it’s crucial to have sufficient time to prepare and manage it around your other obligations. Before the interview, ensure that you find out whether it will be an in-person, phone, or video interview. This will help you to prepare accordingly.
